Hello there! Meditation is a very personal journey that involves going deep into the true self and basking in this light/understanding. This is a place we can relax and calmly explore our thoughts, our choices, and our energy. It is also a place where we can remove/dissolve negative vibrations and cultivate positive ones. There is no right or wrong way to meditate, but it should always be an alive process. 

My recommended books are as follows: 
Tao Te Ching (Stephen Mitchell Translation)
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle 

There are of course many many books out there but these have helped me the most on my path of understanding.

Crystals are certainly a beautiful form in this creation and can contribute positively to a meditation session by setting a certain mood - but I have never heard of someone being burned by one until now. This experience may be unique to you!

Hello there! When meditating and these thoughts start to appear, just let them happen. Don’t try and push them away or fight against them. When we fight against these thoughts it creates a conflict within and feelings of anxiety arise.

When we allow the thought to arise in awareness naturally without resistance it is much easier to allow it to dissolve. If you need any more help or a more detailed response feel free to send me another message! Have a beautiful day / night!

No rules! There are a lot of different techniques that each have a different purpose. If you are just starting I would suggest finding a nice quiet place with very few distractions that you can go to for 20-30 minutes every day. Sit with your back straight, eyes closed, and focus on your breathing. Doing this will help you understand the benefits and effects of meditating first hand so you can later make tweaks and adjustments to better fit your style. 

The idea is to reach an altered place of consciousness so you can better cultivate positive energy, relax, open your heart, or re-wire the mind to better serve you. Great truths may be revealed to you and you may experience intense moments of clarity about a situation you inquired about. The benefits are truly endless. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the journey into the infinite depths of your spirit.

It all depends on what you want to get from the experience. I find using music that is calm and doesn’t have words can take you deeper into the experience and allows you to get more in touch with your self. However, using music such as your favorite pop song, can be an excellent source for creating positive high vibrations and putting you in a good mood. So both work just fine. Experiment a little bit and see what works best for you!

Thank you! I have also been using various guided meditations recently and have been getting great results. In my understanding, mantras are very helpful for focus/concentration - used almost like a barrier that deflects any incoming thoughts/distractions - and it also serves as a type of unification force between you and all things. All blends together into one in the mantra you use. The only one I have ever really used is “Om / Aum” which I think would be a good place to start.
